Frequently Asked Questions
What qualifies as a dental emergency?
Anything from a severe toothache to a broken tooth that requires immediate attention can be considered a dental emergency. If you are bleeding or have suffered a severe head injury, please contact 911.
What should I do if I knock out a tooth?
If a permanent tooth is chipped or broken, strive to keep it moist at all times. If possible, try to place the tooth back in the socket without harming the root. If you are unable to do this, try putting it in milk or between your gums and cheeks until you can see a dentist. Additionally, to minimize swelling, apply a cold compress to your cheek.
How quickly can I be seen?
Our Stockton emergency dentist strives to see emergency cases as soon as possible, usually on the same day.
My pain went away, do I still need to see a dentist?
Pain is your body’s way of telling you something isn’t right. If you’re feeling uncomfortable, even if the pain goes away after a few days, tell us about it! It’s likely there’s an issue still hidden under the surface and the pain will return in the future even worse than before.
