Dr. Howard Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen studied electrical engineering and computer science (EECS) at UC Berkeley. He worked in the mainframe computer industry for more than three years in the U.S. and Japan in the 1980s before he went back to dental school at UC San Francisco. He graduated from Berkeley with the highest honors (top 3%) and went on to Stanford University for his master’s degree, also in EECS. Dr. Nguyen was awarded the Regent Scholarship from both UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco. He also received numerous awards during his dental years: Martin awards for academic achievements, Hughes for prosthodontics, the Fleming award for outstanding care for the patients and a CDA scholarship.

When Dr. Nguyen is not practicing dentistry at his private practice, he enjoys serving for a number of organizations for volunteer works. He is very active with his high school’s alumni association. He also enjoys badminton, tennis and spending time with his family, which includes his beautiful wife and two children. He is a member of the American Association of Functional Orthodontics, the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association®.
